I can see on the CIC website that it says to include info on length of stay and where the invited person is staying in the letter of invitation. However, what else will I need? Do I need to show my pay stubs or notice of assessment to prove my income too? My friend invited her mom as a visitor and she had to show all this proof of income stuff. Thanks!

I understand that you will be applying for a visitor visa. As I have experienced your situation in the past I am suggesting that you include a statement in the letter of invitation that your relative assures the CIC that you will not be a burden to the government of Canada during your temporary stay.

Yes, it is a normal requirement that you present proof of income and if you are being sponsored for your trip, you have to show proof that your sponsor has the means to support you.

All these should be on your local Canadian visa office information for visitor applicants.

Good luck.
