File Transfer...
21-04-2010
Currently my husband's application is being processed in the Ivory Coast but due to presidential election issues in that country they have suspended immigration services but if I look at the website my understanding is that the files should be moved to Dakar. Already had long waiting period because of mail issues from the ivory coast. Application was submitted March 8, 2010 I received a letter stating that the file was being transfered to the visa office in Ivory Coast April 21, 2010. Then received a letter for more information September 15, 2009 from the visa office but the letter was dated June 8, 2010 and I was to have the information to their office by September 8, 2010. How you suppose to do that when you receive the letter past the due date. I did ask my husband to go to the visa office and they excepted everything but have not heard anything since and now with the service suspension in the visa office not sure what to expect.

I would send and email and a fax to the embassy explaining the situation and asking them if they can confirm that they got the documents. They will most likely not respond.

I would then call CIC mississauga the number is 1-888-242-2100 see if you can get any type of info from them or maybe they can get a senior rep to look into it for you... they may not be able to help.

I would go see my MP... they have strings in Ottawa with the ministers officer and are probably able to see if they received the documents and if they are attached to your file...

I hope this help, best of luck to you.

If you read the OPs Bulletin 267 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob267.asp Everything will be very slow in Dakar.

Thanks for the information. I think I am going to try the MP office. I have two small children also that haven't seen their father in almost a year now.

Thanks
