Hi everyone - I am traveling to Canada in about a month with my Bolivian boyfriend. He has his TRV issued back in June and valid until Feb. 1, 2010. We have our round-trip ticket leaving Canada on January 29th.

I'm wondering what we should expect when we arrive at the airport in Toronto?

Recently, some friends and family who have entered Toronto from outside Canada have told me there are now Immigratin officers who check your documents right off the plane, before the actual Immigration line up area.

If you could share your experience about what to expect - what questions to do they ask, should we have any additional documents ready at that point (other than passport & visa), how was your experience in general, etc.?

Thanks so much in advance! I will defintiely share our experience once we go through it ourselves.

1. The CBSA does airplane door checks just to ensure that everyone has a passport and that someone is not going to destroy their passport between the plane and inspection line. (happens with refugee claimants)
2. Passport, proof of funds, return airline ticket. They will ask how long it is intention to stay.
