What to expect after submitting extension app.

My application to extend my visitor status was signed for on Aug 11, by someone at CPC Vegreville. Should I expect any sort of email notification that my application has been received (like an AOR) or will I not hear anything from them until they decide to accept/deny my extension?

When I applied for my visitor extension back in 2013 I heard nothing from them until I received the visa in the mail. It maybe different now I'm not sure..

We haven't received anything either, curious as well as to what to expect.
