What To Do With A Non-English Affidavit??

Hello!

I got my financial documents translated into English along with a sworn affidavit from a lawyer. The problem is, in Portugal they are only allowed to write affidavits in Portuguese. No place can do it in English or French.

What can do to make sure that the Canadian government will understand what the affidavit says? Do I need to go to the Canadian embassy?

1. You have to have it translated by a certified translator into either English or French.

Read the answer you were given again. You need get the affidavit translated - you don't need to get a new affidavit in English.

I'm not sure if you guys understood. What would getting a translation even do? Then the affidavit would also need to have an affidavit attached it... Which again, can't be translated into English.

Anyway, I went to the Canadian Embassy and they said that the Paris embassy allows it to be in Portuguese.

Haven't you heard about certified translation done by agencies? That will authenticate it is a true, certified translation of original.
