My eTa is valid until Year 2020 but I have stayed here for 5 months now, and I want to stay longer. I know that I should let Government of Canada know at least a month before 6 months.
Should I be applying for extension through this one? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ces/visit-canada/extend-stay/eligibility.html

Help please. Thank you!

Yes - you need to apply to extend your stay if you want to stay beyond the allowed six months.

You do not need to apply at least a month before the six month visit expires. This is a guideline and not a rule. You just need to make sure the extension reaches IRCC before the expiry.
