Hello brothers,

Here is another question that irritates me :P

If someone is going for a two years program, what will be the duration of his/her visa? I mean exactly the two years or two years and a few extra months. If exactly two years, then is it possible to apply and get work permit after completing the studies? :-\

yes this is the same question that i have been trying to figure out.....seniors plez help...

but we wont be given a work permit without the graduation certificate. so will that many days be enough

They generally give visa less than the length of study so that when required, you can extend it. They won't be giving anything more than your length of study :P

Oh my God. They are cruel. A cuzn of mine applied for australian study permit, his duration of studies was one and a half year. And he got visa of 2.1/2 years. ::) ::)

By the way, rhasan brother can you tell us what is the duration of your visa if you don't mind :-[

There's nothing to mind in this question :P They gave me a TVR of 1.5years so I am expecting the permit to be of the same length of time.

Same here

Initially they give visa for 1 years on a two year program. After that you have to apply via university for extension. That is what I have heard.

2 years :P

If you have an off-campus work permit, both the off-campus work permit and your study permit are valid for 90 days after you graduate. If you apply for the post-grad work permit as soon as you graduate, you should have it before the 90 days are up but even if you don't, you are under implied status because of your off-campus work permit and are allowed to continue working anyway.

Thanks guys for your replies.
