What stage a passport photo is needed ?

I have created EE profile. Still not received ITA. But was wondering at what stage i will have to get Passport photo for CIC ?

A passport photo is required when you need to send hard copies of your documents to any province/CIC for processing.

Thanks for the reply. Are the requirements same as for PR photo. For example - photographer details on the back, date taken, applicant's name, d.o.b etc. Its ridiculous CIC wants so many things on the back of a tiny photograph.

As per my knowledge, we only need to mention our name, date of photo, date of birth
