When we submitted our app in February - we were planning on moving to Vancouver. I live in the US and had to show that I would move back. I had a job offer that was old but still good if they called. I also wrote a letter. But after I submitted the offer, my parents decided to move to Ontario because of a job offer my dad got and we decided to go with them. We put out household stuff on the truck and I am in Canada now.

I am going back to be with my husband until he gets his PR but should I notify CIC that I have actually moved already and that we are going to Ontario instead? I did the B4, have an address, have a rental agreement etc. Should I just let them approve me based on going to BC or should I try and inform them that I have moved to Ontario? I am not even sure I can get any info to my file before they look at it. Advice appreciated!

Inform them that you have already moved back to Canada and where you are now residing and include the documents you mentioned as proof. That removes the need for any additional assessment based on the fact that you were residing primarily outside of Canada. Plans change all the time, but you have now established that you have re-settled in Canada, so you should definitely keep CIC apprised.

That makes sense. But how do I get this info to them? I don't know how to even get this info to my file before they assess me for sponsorship. And I am worried it might complicate things and drag out sponsorship when I could easily get sponsored with the old info and then change it afterward.

Ohhh you haven't been approved yet, have you! *facepalm* Sorry, had a CRAFTS moment there, I just realized you meant Feb 2012! LOL. OK, so they won't be able to add any new information to your file yet, as you haven't been assessed for sponsor approval yet.

Wait until you are approved and your file goes to the visa office, then send a case specific enquiry via the CIC portal advising them that you have already completed the move back to Canada and attach the information sent (scan your new lease agreement, they accept pdf, Word and Excel attachments). They may not respond to the query, but your information will be updated.

Thanks. I hope I still get approved no problem. I know my case is stronger now but we didn't know what would happen, it was all last minute. I am waiting on pins and needles for approval!! I will inform them after the app is forwarded to the VO. Thanks for your help!

I would have said "send the new info or update them" however from reading here someone did that and they stupidly returned their update letter. I believe she also had UCI number from the past.
That is a very stupid thing because this stage was supposed to be days. It made sense when they return anything however now that the process is long. They should know people status and info change.
The only solution for them is to re-think of their whole system and process.
Here is my suggestion if you can link it to your application (for example using receipt #) and it is easy to send them the info then do it also add a note saying something like "since the process takes long time I am attaching an update that I think very important to my application"
if it is returned then be it if not then good
