SO MOST PEOPLE ARE JUST THINKING ABOUT GETTING TO CANADA, HOW MANY OF US ARE THINKING ABOUT HOW ARE WE GOING TO PROVIDE FOR OUR FAMILIES, WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE IN THE COMFORT ZONE OF OUR OWN COUNTRY ANYMORE ARE THEREFORE NEW RULES AND CHANGES WILL OCCUR.

HERE A FEW QUESTIONS:

1: HOW QUALIFIED ARE WE IN OUR RESPECTIVE COUNTRY
2: WHAT TYPE OF JOB OR POSITION DO YOU HOLD NOW, BECAUSE YOU MIGHT BE A MANAGER IN YOUR COUNTRY AND JUST REGULAR STAFF IN CANADA.
3: ARE YOU WILLING BE RE-CERTIFIED AS WHILE YOU MAY HAVE SOME LEVEL OF EDUCATION THEY MIGHT NOT RECOGNIZE IT IN CANADA
4: ARE THERE JOBS YOU FIND DEMEANING AND THEREFORE WONT DO THEM.
5: ARE YOU LOOKING IN THE CANADIAN JOB MARKET AND SEEING WHATS NEEDED AND HOW TO STAY AHEAD OF THE GAME.

THERE COULD BE MORE QUESTIONS BUT THAT'S JUST A FEW.

So many post are here where people are taken for granted because the cant take of the family or just cant find a job so life gets frustrating.

Reality is most qualified folks end up driving cabs ( you will meet many doctors and engineers driving cabs ) , a small % get a proper job but if you upgrade yourself with Canadian experience and education, then things look better later

isnt that hard thou to leave your country a medical doctor to go somewhere else to drive a cab after all that schooling, even a engineers almost the same amount of time in school as well.

Yes, but its the reality - they have so many immigrants coming in with a limited amt of job market, how can you fit everyone? what about folks who are born here and go to schools/universities
But people to choose to come here and depends on luck/opportunity where you end up

Medical field is more tough to get in and you need certifications from Canada

1) I've had employers in the USA fighting for me. Does that count?

2) Student/Visitor

3) Am currently enrolled in university; Universities in Canada have already accepted my school and will allow me to continue my education here once I am finished with my university in the USA.

4) Whore, pimp, drug dealer, stripper, human trafficking

5) Yes, I've based on university choices on published material from HRSDC.

is it the job or how your looking?

quote from a member

I would advise not settling in the major cities when you first arrive unless you have a job in hand. The cost of living is so high that a family of 4 really needs a gross income of $150000/year just to meet the basics.

There are lots of smaller communities trying to grow into the modern age and I think anyone should consider moving to smaller communities.
