I was under the impression that it is the security checks that is making all this delay and not the tax issue, but whatever was the reason, I sure do not like waiting any longer. It is not fair that in some cases it takes just a month or so while in others it takes ages to get approved.
The immigration system still needs amendments when it comes to processing different cases. Every week counts in life and we are spending months doing nothing but waiting for the BIG DECISION , as if there is nothing else in life that matters. Immigration officers should not forget that the applicants are people with plans , families, and they can not spend all their lives waiting. I even happen to have read that some applicants died before they got the decision or waiting for the visa issuance. It is just bitter when you think of it.
Unfortunatly, the immigration officers do not care about people's situations, they do not even take in consideration any out of control conditions related to the applicants. Just some examples, usually if they ask people who live in canada to go for an interview in their consulates in the USA and those people get refused a visa for the USA, the immigration officers transfer the file to their countries instead of making arrangement for the interview in any immigration office inside canada, which is easier, faster and cheaper for the applicants.
Another thing, they don't give applicants inside canada any legal status while their applications are being processed in Buffalo, so if you have any issues related to your status in canada (in their opinion, go to the hell you and your status).
The last thing is, they don't even care whether you studied in canada a full time program for many years and paid a lot of money and worked legally for many years to take that in consideration by giving a level of priority for those people based on the fact that they are really familiar with the canadian community and can strongly establish themselves economically and socially in canada since they are a part of that community, and the most ridiculous reason in such a case when they refuse the application for a person who studied in canada for 2 years and got his degree, and worked for 2 years legally after graduation based on (i am not satisfied that you will be able to establish economically in canada !!!!!!!). if someone in that situation will not be able to establish in canada ,then who would be able to do so !!! poeple who haven't even stepped in canada and know nothing about it and even have a degrees that are not recognized by the canadian employers !!!!
have a look at this case :
