Hello,

What would be the best method of payment for the OINP (French skilled worker Ontario nomination program) application if paying from the UK. The choices are:

 Money Order;
 Cashier/Certified Cheque;
 Postal Money Order; OR
 Bank Draft.

Is one method more cost effective for exchange rates than the other? and is one method more secure then the other?

Thanks

Hi,

To be honest with you most methods are irrelevant in the UK and even finding one method that can be done by an institution is very difficult. I would prioritise bank draft from your bank.

Barclays and NatWest do bank drafts in Canadian dollars. I asked a friend of mine to help me produce one because I was banking with HSBC and they only do those in Euros. The bank draft at NatWest can be done online and costs £20. It arrives 5 days later.

Alternatively, if you know someone in Canada, they could a postal order money order for you.

Hope that helps - shout if you have any other questions.

I am in the same case. I confirm HSBC in UK is useless on this. They don't provide international bankers draft anymore (that's an international bank though...). I'll see if my bank in France can provide one in CAD.
