What is reviewed in the eligibality review in a study permit application?

Hello all,

I just want to know when your application status changes from "Your application is in process. When we start reviewing your eligibility we will send you a message" to " We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements"

What do they review? How is their procedure for reviewing the documents on a study permit application?

It means your application is being reviewed and officer is determining whether you qualify/are eligible for a study permit. So they look at your school, funds, ties to home country, SOP etc. Officer follows IRCC manuals, rules and laws.

My eligibality review started two weeks ago. I hope everything is good.

I got admitted into a thesis-based Master of Applied Computer Science and Society. My supervisor wrote a letter to IRCC I also attached it to my application. He has a very nice project and he explained it to the office. I hope that can help me a lot.
My full tuition fee for the entire two years is 35k CAD but I don't pay for it. My supervisor pays for it. I hope that can help too.

If doing a Masters with funds then you certainly have a stronger profile than most. Hopefully you will hear soon.

Thanks for your nice comment. It appears strong but we can not predict how a visa officer looks at it. My application is being processed in Abu Dhabi. I also, paid 5k CAD for tuition deposit but it will be refunded once I start my studies.

I've been cooperating with a Canadian professor who is to write a book on breast cancer. I am one of the co-authors of the book. He also, wrote a letter for me and I attached it to my application along with the book proposal. I hope that helps too.

I am from Afghanistan and currently living here. Do you think my country of citizenship will have a negative impact on my applicationa?
