what is open work permit ...

hello everybody,

i was reading now many times OPEN WORK PERMIT....what exactly is that ? Do i need an employer for applying and would there be any opportunity to get such a visa trough my fiance ? He is Canadien Citizen. And if yes, how can i apply ? so many questions from my side and i am kind of lost in all that diffrent informations i read on the internet.

An open work permit is a work permit that allows you to work for any employer without obtaining an LMO. It is not the same thing as a temporary work permit.

Having a Canadian fiance does not qualify you for an open work permit. Once you are either married or common law (have lived together for at least one full year), your finace can sponsor you for PR. If your PR sponsors you using the inland (within Canada) process, you will qualify for an open work permit once you have first stage approval. First stage approval is usually received around six months after the application is submitted.
