OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Program) states the following eligibility for born outside Canada-

US born kid.

  • are applying for permanent residence in Canada and:
    • have submitted an application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and;
    • IRCC has confirmed they have reviewed the application and that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply (see document requirements);and
    • you have not yet been denied
What is the meaning of second bullet point? What documentation does IRCC provide for the second bullet point?

US born kids being sponsored for PR by their parents won't qualify for OHIP until they have become PRs.

There is no inland (in Canada) sponsorship for dependent children. The applications are all outland (outside of Canada).

So the above rule doesn't apply to them.
