Hi ,
I have an open work permit and is looking for a job in the IT field.
Whenever I tell a recruiter that I am on work-permit, they ask me whether I am incorporated!!
I dont understand what this is! is it necessary to land on a job?

Incorporated means you are registered as a business. That way the recruiter doesn't pay taxes. They pay you the rate without tax deduction and you have to take care of the taxes, benefits, vacation etc and the recruiter is not responsible for it. You will have register as a business with the government and they give you a business number. There are hr agencies that assist with this if you are interested. Search Canada incorporated registration

They are asking about whether you are able to do contract work essentially. Many people in IT set themselves up as a small business and do contract jobs and are hired when necessary by companies.
