Ecas is an online system that you can check your application. The first thing it shows is application received, then medicals get added (as they are put into the system) if an interview is requested the date will appear there as well. Then onto in process followed by decision made.

It is not very reliable. Others will tell you, they have had it saying in process even after landing.

Once you apply, and get AOR and or sponsor approval you will use the file number(with applicants info) or UCI with sponsors info to log into the system. Mine worked about 3 days after I was approved.

Take Care

the most non-informative application tracking system in the world.

there are 3 things you get about your application

1- when is it received
2- when it was started to be processed
3- when a decision was made

it is very irregularly updated, some people never get -in progress status-, and if a decision is made they contact you before they update your status on ecas. therefore it is utterly useless.
but we applicants have to live to hope,
so most of the time, go and check everyday! hurray!

ok so I tried it and guess what it said exactly what you both said. You are right it is of no use! Just like the estimated 27 months out of Nairobi processing time. just like a VO looking at us from behind bulletproof glass.

Thanks mystery solved!

not the ecas, but ordering gcms notes are more informative, it takes about a month to arrive every time you order.

You don't need to go IN PROGRESS - we have figured this out through parent sponsorship threads that when the embassy ( LVO ) request Meds, Passport - the ECAS goes like

Application Received
Then ( When Meds have Passed )
Application Recieved
Meds Received
Then ( Passport Stamped )
Application Received
Meds Received
Decision Made

ONLY when embassy request for additional docs after Meds and Passport, you will IN PROGRESS in the main page and rest remains same

I was just going to say useless lol
