WHAT IS DIVORCE PETITION AND ORDER????...???????

Senior and experienced members I need help.My best friend had applied for family class sponsorship few months back and he was asked by NDVO to sent Divorce Petition and order for sponspored previous marriage,now the question is I know the meaning of petition but don't know what is ORDER,Does order and petition have same meaning or what .Guys please help me fast as time is running short........Thanks in advance

My canadian divorce had to be recognized in Brazil and I was asked for what is called a DIVORCE ORDER.
You can get this from the court at University Av. Just call them ahead of time. You have to pay a small fee as it is probably archived and then certify it. I think the cost is about $9.

Try the NDVO thread. I've read that they seem to request those documents, whereas other VOs tend to accept the final divorce document.

Google told me: A divorce order is the judgment from the court, and the divorce becomes effective 31 days after that.
The petition would be the forms you submit asking for a divorce.

There are 3 stages in a canadian divorce.

1. Petition
2. Divorce Order
3. Certificate of Divorce

The court house is at 393 University Av.
