what is "continuous" employment?

Hello,
I have been a teaching assistant at my university as a graduate student for 6 years (MSc + PhD years).
My total work hours exceed the 1950 hrs limit set by the CIC, but the problem is that I have 4 months of gap between each academic years that I served as a TA (I didn't work as a TA between months of May to August of each year, due to the summer break)
is my employment as TA still count as continuous experience?

Probably because the university is closed for lectures during that time. I think you probably have to write it all in one period, from when you started your MSc to when you ended your Phd. But wait for others to reply.
