Hello,

So I recently got admission into a University in Canada and needed to extend my current study permit according to my new course. I was on the CIC website looking up how it would be done and noticed that it was mentioned that the extension of the study permit must be applied at least 30 days before the expiry. Now, my application at University was processed quite late and my visa will expire at the end of this month in November 2021, so I am applying within 30 days of expiry.

I was wondering it would be alright for me to apply for an extension and wait for a decision or does my application get affected in any way since I did not apply at least 30 days before expiry. Please let me know if anyone has an answer to this. Thanks!

Makes no difference. Assume you are in Canada.
