What happens to my status during a Humanitarian and compassionate application?

All you guys laterally avoided the main question asked by OP. He/She asked clearly what happens to her current status after applying for H&C. Most of you guys were talking about how OP is not eligible for H&C, probably the main reason why he/she stopped replying back on the thread.

To restate (for anyone who is skipping to the end) basically someone in OP's situation would need to ensure that they apply for and keep up the visitor records until they're eligible to apply for an open work permit, which can take a while as per https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...ompassionate-application.620630/#post-7730371

Basically you have to maintain status in Canada more-or-less the same way you would if you didn't have an H&C app open, with the usual risks (e.g. potential eventual deportation/removal) if you fail to do this.
