What happens if a sponsor divorces his spouse

Dear Folks

I am seeking some advice, I sponsored by husband and we are expected to land in Canada in three months to get our PR. We are considering a divorce in the near future. Would that affect my ability to sponsor my parents? and would it affect his PR status?

Looks like you are already a citizen right? You will be financially responsible for your spouse for 3 years and will have to pay back any government assistance your ex takes (if he does). If you are planning a divorce you shouldn't allow him to land.

You are not being sponsored. You are included as a dependent in his PR app.

Landing when you know you will be divorcing is immigration fraud. Your husband must inform IRCC and remove you from the app.
