Hi All,
Like many others, we are getting our heads in a spin trying to work out what application forms to use ???

Will try and make a long story short:

Im English (lived in Ireland for past 10yrs)
She's Canadian (Ontario)
Relationship - Girlfriend/boyfriend

Met on Facebook (4.5yrs ago)
Blind date in London (3yrs ago)
Holidays to canada since (3 times)

Moved here to Canada via holiday/visitor visa & lived with girlfriend since (11 months ago)
Extended holiday visa 6months ago and waiting for 2nd extension to be approved as we speak.
Unable to work as only on holiday extension.

As from Sept we will have lived together for 1yr = Now classed as common-law.

My question is what option do we select for the next stage (obtaining a Visa).
We would prefer to opt for 'Outbound' as it is much quicker than inbound - But i will still be living here with her so therefore i will be 'within' Canada still.

The CIC website is so confusing and after weeks of looking i am none the wiser and just getting more and more confused :(

There are Family class options, Spouse options, inbound/outbound etc etc.

Would anyone be so kind to attach a link to the CIC website for the application form that we would require? as I dont know anymore if im supposed to use Outbound/inbound/family class/spouse??
Or even advice to stop my brain from exploding :'(

I really thank you for your time and (hopefully) your answers.
Thank you.
Lee.

Since you are English, I would recommend outland because it is faster. You can still be in Canada. It is your right to have your application processed in your homeland.

These are the forms you need: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Leon/Anyone else...

Quick one... as i mentioned above, i lived in Ireland for 10yrs (but im a brittish citizen) - Do i need to do background checks/police cert for both Ireland and England or just Ireland?

Many thanks in advance?
Cheers,
Lee.

sorry... forgot another!

On the form it ask's for National Identity document - Do i add both my Irish PPS number & my English social insurance number?

Sorry for the questions... just want to get this correct :)

Cheers,
Lee.

No, leave it blank as you probably weren't issued a NIC in your country.

Hi PMM

thanks for your reply... not sure what you mean though as im sure i had a English National insurance/social number (or what-ever it is/was called) Was born/Lived & worked in England before i moved over to Ireland and then got an Irish ID number (PPS).

Believe me, it is not a National Identity Card. For example if you lived in Pakistan you would have one, as everyone is issued one. No one in the UK, Canada, USA, etc is issued one.

Hi All,
