What does transcripts mean??

Are these just the xerox of individual semester memos wid university's stamp on it?
Or the real memos??

Do I need to send these transcripts to all the universities if I apply in for example 5 universities??

Please help

Transcript has subject details, with a lot of other info in a single piece of paper..
it looks much more detailed and sophisticated then our normal marksheets..

I was told by some1 that they just the mark sheets of individual semesters

I sent marksheets only.. to the colleges..
and they accepted it..

so its a requirement of ur university..
u need to ask them..

U can get a single transcript as well for the whole course.. I guess so..
it will have ur subjects and marks for all sems..

okay okay .....thank you...that helped a lot......actually I am in the final year nw....il b applying after my first semester for September intake......I wont have the transcript by then..... I will have the individual sem memos........Will have to send those
