I have not even sent in my visa yet but I am getting close to finishing up and I'm hearing a lot about the process through these forums. I know PPR means passport request, but does that mean the process is actually done and the person is able to move to Canada or is there more waiting afterwords? What happens after PPR?

PPR means precisely that. If you are visa exempt, then send a copy of the bio pages, if you need a visa, then send the original passport. This is the last thing they ask for before issuing the visa (if required) and the necessary CoPR document. Without the CoPR, you cannot land in Canada, so yes, there is more waiting afterwards.
