all the documents u used for visa which u dont have originals...like bank statements,ITR etc can be notarized.....normally u wont need them at port of entry but carrying them wont hurt either

so no need of taking original marksheets, notarized photocopies of them will do??

It's not required. Keep your originals at home and a photocopy of all of them with you. Keep a scanned image of all of your documents at all time irrespective of the fact you going to foreign country for study. Now talking specifically about Canada, at POE, you will be required only to produce - passport, Letter of acceptance, letter of visa (which you get along with your passport from embassy), that's it. Nothing else required and why would someone carry bank statement to Canada, just wondering?

Cheers!

I completely disagree with this .. below link is the recommended list of documents by CIC
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-arriving.asp#documents
it never hurts to carry bank statements etc which r notarized photocopies.
as for originals can be required in future for PR and sometimes needed by college. I feel its absolutely necessary to have original degree certificate. And carrying extra transcripts and recommendation letters is advisable too. I do agree though to have scanned copies and extra photocopies of all documents. Once u get study permit a scanned copy of SP and passport after u enter canada can be helpful too .

The link you provided talks about the same documents as mentioned earlier and for funds part, they only need the proof of funds one is carrying in form of cash, traveler's cheque etc (receipt of Forex conversion). How bank statement could of any use when you land here, i wonder?

Moreover, Brother I am not saying anyone is wrong or right here. I just expressed my opinion. I was in London and lost my original business visit papers, but as I had them online in my email as a scanned copy, hence I was out of trouble.

Peace.

@Hell911, welcome to Canada, and what's wrong with your ID @Hell911, rolf.

cheers!

u got some of the documents right however
"proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada" is ur financials/bank statement

"letters of reference or any other documents recommended by the visa office where you applied" means all the documents used for visa application.
How it is used is another matter ..CIC recommends u to bring all the documents that u used to apply for visa.
as i said before having scanned copies of all documents is a good idea never disagreed with that part.
