Hello!

Thank you everyone for this really wonderful resource.
I have so many questions and many of my Canadian friends do not have the answers.

We are immigrating to Canada, BC from the US.

What documentation will I need to rent a home or apartment when I arrive?
Will my work Visa need to be in order for me to rent?
I plan on heading up end of April to get accommodations in order for our family, but I may not have the Work Visa in place by then.

I work for a Canadian Company currently, but they do not pay me via payroll. I invoice, they pay. I have US tax returns to show my income. Will this be sufficient?

Finally, how will my not so great US credit affect my ability to rent?

Also,

Hope this helps:

Thank you so much.
That was exactly what I was looking for :)

It seems they do not require immigration documents so that will be very helpful.
