I landed as a Permanent Resident last week. The Officer asked if I had a work permit, and I told him that I did. The officer did not ask to keep my work or study permits after I landed.

Do I need to return these study and work permits to Citizenship and Immigration Canada since I no longer am a Foreign National under the I.R.P.A.?

No, keep them. If/When you apply for citizenship, you can count 1/2 the time on a study/work permit to a maximum of 1 year prior to "landing" for residency for citizenship.

Thank you! I was going to use my passport stamps to show that I had lived in Canada since 2008, but this is even better.
