Hi i need info about the wp case type 24, what kind of permit is this temp work permit or student permit, etc? Is it also possible to have a work permit prior to departure to canada, coz some say wp will be obtain in point of entry only, upon departure must have a temp work permit? what other documents must bring during departure? and one more thing does a valid work permit have a photo attached? thanks hope to get a response..

For TFWs, WPs are issued at POE (initial) and then from Vegreville (renewal). WPs have no pictures attached. You need to bring a copy of the letter from embassy, LMO, passport with the visa attached, and if you're coming in as spouse of a skilled TFW, copy of your marriage contract and copy of his/her WP.

Thanks! So you mean CIC: CPC Veg (as mentioned on the WP) is a renewed Work Permit? So its really NO to receive WP prior to departure to Canada? How come my friend already got his WP with photo attached and mentioned on the left bottom CIC: CPC Veg and Case type is 24. And one thing i noticed also was there's no birthdate written on the WP and the Client No format is doubting also as i've checked it should be 4 numerics hyphen 4 numerics (0000-0000) am I right?

Where did the WP come from? What region did your friend apply from? Yes, CPC-V is when you apply for the renewal of the WP (not always, could also be new WP for new employer). Don't know much about case types :( There may have been changes with how they handle WPs. But generally when one applies from outside of Canada, the applicant is basically applying for a visa and the WP is obtained when the applicant "lands", at the POE. With the Passport (and TRV) comes a letter instructing the applicant on what to do when s/he arrives in Canada.

Its a job offer from Quebec, and the work permit was applied in Canada not in the country of residence of my friend. Is WP differs from each region, like WP from Alberta has different format from Quebec? Its so doubting with regards to the processing. Are there cases also for work permit processing that does not follow the right procedures like doing it under the table, because they got it within 2 weeks less.

So your friend is already in Canada hence the WP is from CPC-V? I am not familiar with Quebec WP processing. Apart from Quebec, I think processing in all the other provinces would be similar. Is this for real?

Also, since your friend was able to obtain the WP from CPC-V then s/he is either a student or TFW and not a visitor in Canada.

Nope not yet in Canada, he just got the copy of WP (jpeg format via email) last 3 days ago and as i understood it was issued at CPC Veg because ive searched it and most of the CPC Veg filed WP are student permit. And the WP is kinda blurred like there are wordings that are not readable, even the Logo at the top part is blurred, it seems that it was only edited copied & pasted the details/wordings. I was thinking that maybe they can enter (maybe by illegal procedures) Canada but no employer or work waiting for them there.

Who applied for the WP? It's seems spurious.

Does s/he have a temporary resident visa? Not even visitors already in Canada can obtain an initial WP from Vegreville how much more for somebody who's not in Canada. Read on obtaining temporary work permit from the CIC website. Almost everything one needs to know is there. And there are also lots of warnings on FRAUD.

The situation is they offered a job from an agency in SG with a counter agency in Canada.

Yeah this is what i've learned also from the CIC site and from my friend who's working in Canada also, and I'm expecting that they will receive the temporary WP first then upon arrival at POE in Canada that will be the time they will be issuing the WP. But the agent is really confident that they are dealing with legal agency & employer in Canada but everything is so ??? And the moment i so the WP i suspect that its not legit, because as far as i understood the bottom part where CIC is written is should be the place of POE right? and how come there's no b-date in it which is so important for government/immigration document.

TRV (to be able to enter Canada) then WP at port of entry to be able to work in Canada. I hope it didn't cost your friend thousands of dollars for the fake WP.

First $250 for the CAQ, then $400 for the WP, now asking for the payment for the air ticket which are reserved on end of Oct, but i checked the ticket reservation and the reservation is valid. Then before departure will be the final payment which total to 2x salary. :o

Is a visa affixed on the passport? WP is $150.00.
