After visiting some forums, found that plenty of people are having unexpected experiences with WES for not recognising their Master's degrees. Since then, I have become curious to know about my Master's ECA results. I have Masters in Software Engineering, 1.5 years (18 months) from reputable University, known as University Malaya, which stands at #9 in Asia ranking, and #59 in the entire world. It is also listed on WES portal. I am planning to apply for Canadian Immigration. My undergraduate study was Bachelors in Information Technology - with specialisation in Software Engineering (Hons) 3 years. Although, my previous university is not reputed one, yet it appears on WES university list.
According to some of my friends' experiences, university's reputation and education standard matter for expected ECA results, Therefore, chances of WES to provide equivalency to my Masters to that of Canadian one is high.
What is your take on this.
