So, I become a permanent resident of Canada in April of 2013. I just received a letter from Revenu Quebec saying I owe them $200 for 2012? I'm trying to make sense of this, but I cannot. How the heck do I owe taxes for a year that I wasn't even WORKING or a RESIDENT? I was here as a visitor in 2012, but I didn't work nor did I really have status. Thoughts?
