What are the real consequences of part time work outside of a close WP

A friend of mine has been working at a company on a closed WP for years. He started teaching remotely for a school in a different provence last year without realizing it was a violation of his closed WP.

What are the actual consequences of this? All I can find online is that it's illegal, but what actually happens? Is it deportation, fines, prison time? Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice?

He could get denied any future immigration application for not respecting the immigration rules.
