If you are offered a job in Quebec that you are told pays $30/hr but in the contract the salary is actually written as follows:

"Pay rate is $20/hr pay and $10/hr per diem"

What is the difference/implication of the salary being written in the contract as:

(a) "Pay rate is $30/hr"

OR

(b) "Pay rate is $20/hr pay and $10/hr per diem"

per diem means per day.
So, $20/- per hour and $10/- per day. It does not make $30/- per hour.

Well, thats what I was thinking too, I have never seen per diem written like that, but that is what job offer says:

"Pay rate is $20/hr pay and $10/hr per diem"

Thanks for your response.
