Never the less, what does the above status indicate ? what would be the next step AFTER processing begins and medical results received ? and how long does it usually take for that next update to appear ?

Share your complete timeline. Normally PPR is issued within 4-6 months as per the recent trend. Some lucky ones are also receiving the same in a month's time. So much depends on your MI type, country of application, NOC and the assessment of VO.
