Hi there everyone!

I just received a letter from CIC stating,

"We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The
Canada Immigration Centre in Vancouver Immigration will contact you to arrange an
appointment for the finalization of your permanent resident application."

I was curious... Whenever they do contact my Husband(who is immigrating from USA), what is to be expected at the interview? What questions will they ask? I just don't want to come unprepared! Will it be long? And will I be able to go with him?

If you've already finished your interview I would love as much information you can give me about the interview would be great :) .

is there a chance to fail the interview? I'm so nervous!

Sponsor and PA must attend. It's pretty much impossible to fail the landing interview. The questions will be basic to ensure the material evidence of the application is still valid: no criminal convictions, no change in the number of kids presented, etc. Usually only a few (3 is what I hear most commonly) questions asked.

Congrats!! That's a decision made letter (DM)! Yes, you go too. They will just ask basic questions to you--do you still want to sponsor him...and they'll ask him making sure there are no undeclared dependents, anything change on the app, any crimes committed, ask when he first entered to canada, all basic stuff. Then sign some papers and be done. Most report it's less than 15 minutes...but the wait at the office for your name to be called can be a little wait...most not much.

This is not an interview that passes or fails....it's a formality to sign the paper and get PR. :)

Being it's from Vancouver, expect a quick turnaround for getting the letter and having the appointment--they've been very fast.

When did you apply?

Cool! Thanks for the reply :) Will they contact me via phone or email? Because I haven't gotten an email after I received the one I just posted. (which I got today)

I applied April 2015 :) how about you? Have you finished the whole process? :O

Should be by email too. Probably will be within the next few days to week--if you haven't seen anything within 6 weeks, you can call CIC and they'll message the local office---but you should have no need to do that--Vancouver is quick. No, i'm a December 1, 2015 applicant. Just keep myself up to date on the process to help others while I wait. :)

Hi! I saw you said that the processing time for Vancouver Immigration to set up an interview after decision made was fast. I was wondering, if it's been 2 weeks, is that too soon to be worried? We received the email saying the application was complete on January 30th. I just thought we would have had the second email to set up the interview by now...

Sadly they are now one of the slowest offices. They are taking around 7 wks to schedule now and another few wks to month for the landing date
