Hi All

Just a word of warning for those who have received or will be receiving their PR cards to check it carefully for any errors. In my case , CIC made an error on my PR card. The country of birth listed on the card was that of my spouse and not mine. It takes patience and perseverance to correct it :)

When i did call in an explain the error, the customer care agent did not think it mattered at all. So i asked him what happened when i left the country and tried to reenter. wouldn't they query me as to why my card says one country and the passport says another. He then realized what it would matter and referred it to the supervisor and they sent me some form to fill up and submit back.

i did that and eventually when i called to follow up after 6 weeks as to the status of my card , i got a totally different story from another agent. This agent told me that i needed to fill up another form and submit it to get the incorrect data corrected blah blah blah. that was why my card was taking so long as i wouldn't have done that. He told me to download the form fill it and submit it with an explanation otherwise what i had sent in would still be unactioned. After downloading the form in question i realized when filling it up that it did not make any sense whatsoever to my issue. So i called back to query what i was supposed to enter and got another opinion from a lady agent. She said that what i was advised 1 hr earlier was totally incorrect and she apologized on behalf of CIC. Told me to wait till the end of jan and call back if it didn't come through. Well thankfully it did finally come through today.

But end of the day, doesn't matter if Canada is a first world country everyone makes mistakes and so do check everything for errors

cheers
