Hey everyone I am just looking for some advice/direction
I have recently sponsored my husband and he just landed this past January. We included my step son on the application but for various reasons he was non-accompanying. We would like him to be able to visit while we are ready to have him move to Canada permanently (aiming for in a year or so) question is how do we go about this? Are we submitting a new application like I did for my husband? Is my step-son now the principal applicant? Also can my husband be the sponsor or will that be me? I assume I would have to co-sign because he has not yet found work.? We are just looking for some direction on how to get the ball rolling. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated or if anyone could point me in the direction of a previous thread that addresses this question. Thanks in advanced. :) [flash=200,200][/flash]

I am potentially in the same situation as you and having the same questions. Hoping someone will contribute some answers. I'll update here if I find anything.

Hi

You can apply for a TRV for the child to come visit.

Your husband must submit a brand new sponsorship application with the child as the Principal Applicant. You cannot be the sponsor but you can co-sign the application.

Thanks a million now I know where to start ! What are the odds of him being approved for the TRV. Will it be slim same like it is usually slim for spouses who are being sponsored to get a TRV?

Odds are probably better than a spouse but I honestly can't say. The only thing you can do is try. A return ticket and a letter from the mother in Jamaica confirming the child will be returning would be good proofs.
