Hi,

I am PR (permanent resident) of Canada since July 2011. CIC is asking for net income. Does net income stand for without tax? If so
My monthly net income (without tax) = $1440.
Per hour income = 11.25
Number of hours per week = 37.50. Mon- Fri

Please tell me is this money enough to sponsor my wife? I have checked the CIC website which does not mention any particular amount to sponsor a spouse.

Thank you.

As long as you have a full time job and you've worked there at least 3 months you can sponsor her. There is no set amount that you have to earn you just have to be employed full time.

also If u could somehow have in your account around $10k the statement of it , would do good 4 yr case.

cheers

They usually ask for that , but they do not care that much how much do you earn, as long as you do not receive any welfare . My husband didn`t have any amount at his account, and he does not earn enough money to support our family of 6 by LICO standards, but he is working and he proved that he has monthly income , He was approved as a sponsor .

there's no income requirement for spouse/partner sponsorship; the most imp thing for them is to make sure that u don't need welfare and u can take care of both; the fact that u have a full time permanent job is more than enough i think, it does not matter the amount; there were cases where the sponsor had no job at all, or lost the job, or was going to school....when they process they look as a family all together....if ur wife speaks good English and would have the potential of getting a job fast once she arrives (any job, not career one) than u really don't need to worry
if u have any savings as mehdi suggested, u can show it, or credit card....but if u don't no prolem...actually the savings part applies more for Canadians living outside who will move back to Canada when the visa is granted for their family and who would not have a job at the beginning; so yeah, for that it's good to show some savings...

Hello thanks for the reply. Yes she has done Hons, M.A and B.Ed in english language from a University in India. She has six months teaching experience as well.Finding a job is not difficult for her as she can communicate effectively and efficiently in english.

Regards.
