Let's be realistic - the odds for visa approval is low. If the intention is to immigrate, then express entry would be a viable option. However, with a strongSOP and genuine reasons for your study, it could get approved. Have you got accepted for any diploma/masters in Canada?
As a mature student you would still need to detail your current qualifications, work experience and how any planned course would enhance your future in your home country. You would also need to demonstrate a good level of English Language and ability to pay international fees of approx 15-18k cdn plus 10k cdn living per year.
Its not impossible to get a study permit as a mature student and with such a gap as others on here have succeeded but you need an even stronger convincing case of your intentions than someone younger with little or no gap.
