My Canadian daughter married a US citizen who has applied for PR and is waiting approval. Daughter has been visiting her husband in the US but needs to come back to Canada. Her husband is coming with her expecting that his PR should come though in the next few months. What are the risks? Can he come visit while he waits for his PR? What do they say at the border? Should they travel separately? So anxious about all of this.

He can visit. They don't need to travel separately. He should have only a few bags like a normal visitor, proof of finances and proof of the PR app. He is coming to visit, not coming to live here. Don't volunteer information to CBSA but don't lie.

Thank you! This is helpful. They are bringing a truck with boxes of household items that they received as gifts. I should have clarified that . This is why I’m wondering if they need to travel separately so it doesn’t appear that he is moving here.

Yes, that changes the answer. They need to travel separately.
