Hi,
I would like to share my case and really need your valuable suggestions.
I applied for my spouse and dependent child sponsorship. My husband was my non accompanying family member in my PR application and completed his medical at that time. Now I am sponsoring him with our child. It is in process since Dec 1, till now no news. I called several time in call center. They said everything is ok. No missing document till now. But no decission was made yet. I am really confused why they are taking too much time for my case. I just want to know any decission, yes or no.
Is there any one who is waiting for such a long time? Anything I can do right now? Please share with me if you have any suggestions.
Thanks

There could be any number of reasons, it depends on your circumstances and without more information about you, it is useless for us to try to speculate. It took us 81 days as we needed some paperwork from the province of Ontario, and another poster, British_Bulldog, surpassed us with some 90-odd days required for her approval, and I believe it was because it took that long to confirm that she had fulfilled the PR residency requirement (if memory serves me right).

So, in other words, think about yourself and your circumstances and what may be causing the delay in your being approved to sponsor.

Thanks for your reply. I know each case is different. I am trying to figure out myself why it is taking too long. I called the call center and they didn't say me any reason. I thought they are taking time to verify my non accompanying spouse information. But now I am confused because it should not take them such a long time to find the information.
By the way how do you know the cause of your delay? What do you mean by PR residency requirement? Could you please explain it? I got PR in May 2009. I return in Canada Sept 2011. As per I know in order to maintain PR I have to stay 730 days out of five years. So I thinnk I am ok.

My husband asked the agent at the Call centre that he spoke to what was the cause of the delay and they explained that to him. The other poster I referred to was also within her requirement period, but it took some time for CIC to prove this to their satisfaction. Sometimes verifying information presented to them can take a while.

Just keep following up with them. My husband would call once a week until he finally was told that he had been approved.

How you get your PR. As i think you were outside of Canada as a PR more than one year. And you should wait more than three month then apply for sponsor.And how you show your minimum income and did you do tax return year of 2009 and 2010.

I am from quebec here they do not count you as a resident unless you have some proof of one year base.

@mirjahan
You are right. I was out of Canada.
"you should wait more than three month then apply for sponsor". I didn't know it and didn't get in the guide also. As per I know, I can sponsor immediately after returning to Canada. For spousal sponsorship there is no minimum income. I showed my world income and Bank balance in Canada.
