Hi All,

I have applied for a Study Permit on the 22nd of May @ VAC office in Cairo with an average processing time of 8 weeks.
After exactly a month, on the 22nd of June, I got an email asking for my Address for the last 10 years, my siblings names & if I have any other citizenship.
I was optimistic at that time as I thought that they will not ask for such details unless they have taken my case seriously & that they should be satisfied about other application aspects like funds, LOA & genuine study intentions, I answered their Qs immediately & got an acknowledgement for my response.

However I didn't get any decision since then, the estimated processing time has just been passed two days ago & I'm afraid that I may get that decision late.
The problem is that, my study program starts on the 2nd of September & I must be there at least a week in advance for an English test & registration.
Also I'm working & I still have pending issues, arrangements & payments which are pending their decision.

I have tried to send an inquiry asking for the status of my case, then I got a message that my inquiry will be replied in 28 working days!!

Is there anything else I can do, was I right about their questions, is it a good sign or not.

I'm afraid I may miss this fall semester if they will take much longer, I don't know if it will be possible to shift to the next semester, will I have to resubmit for a Study Visa.

Appreciate your help.

Don't worry hope for the best, if they want to reject they can do it earlier, so i think the result will be positive. Now its peak time lots of applications are waiting for processing that may be the reason for delay, wait for their response, nothing will go wrong.

As per my knowledge,vo takes more time to give pp for students who have one year course.... I have taken admission in dental assisting as I m a Indian dentist...
I still waiting for my pp since 25 jun

You don't have to apply again if you deserve a visa but got delayed, CHC will ask you to submit a letter of deferral (a new LOA) for the next term. Simply FAX it.

Sometimes the processing date starts from the day they requested additional information. Thats what they told me.

Look at my profile, I submitted my application on 15th April 2013 and file was transferred on 31 or 2nd of May then the 8 weeks starts from there.
