waiting for the new visa(form worker to visitor), can i go travel outside canada

Hi guys,

I hold the IEC working holiday visa but it's expired on 20Feb.
I have submitted my application to change my visa status as a visitor at the end of Jan, my application is on processing, I still waiting for my new visa.

I'm planning to travel to US in April, so can i leave canada during this period?
or i just can stay inside canada until i get my new visa from the immigration?

When you leave Canada, you visitor status ends. Even with a visitor permit, and you leave. For visitors every entry is a new entry.
