Hi everyone,
Let me introduce my family's case
1. My spouse (P2) and I came to Canada in 2022. I was on study permit, and P2 was on Spousal Open Work Permit (valid until 2026 Aug)
2. P2 was enrolled in university in 2023. P2 applied for a study permit. However, P2 left university in 2024.
3. I graduated in 2024, and I'm working on my PGWP, ends in 2027-Aug
4. I applied OINP in 2024 Aug. Unfortunately, we found that we were under security now.
So here are my questions:
1. Is my P2 eligible to extend the OWP, or P2 is only eligible to visitor record
2. When should P2 apply for visitor record? The processing time estimation is 183 days, so we should apply at begin of 2026. Is it correct?
3. Where can I find AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt)? We submitted the PR application in 2024 Aug, and we received biometric letter in 2025 Feb, with another email saying "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)".
Thank you
