Hi,
I have Canadian Citizenship (I live in the UK), and am planning to sponsor my husband and daughter so that we can move to Canada next summer. I was planning to complete the forms now to allow a year or so for the application to be processed. However, I have just sent my citizenship card off to have the name changed to my married name. It has now been sent from London to Canada but will apparently take about a year to process. I was really surprised to hear that it would take almost as long as the original application!
Obviously I don't want to have to wait a year before I can send off the sponsorship forms. Does anyone know a way round this so that we don't have to delay our plans for another year?
I would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
Mandy
