Waiting for approval

I have applied for a visit visa to canada on Oct 5th 2018. Till now i have not got any update. Would like to know how long will it take for their response. Go only an email first saying tbat they have received the online application. My wife had sponsored me for spouse visa on jan 2018 only got an update that the file is sent to london.

Visas can take a few days to several months.

Will the visit visa get rejected as my wife also has sponsed me for spouse visa?
I am planning to bring my wife back for sometime incase my paper takes time as she is pregnant and she has no relatives there to help. Would she be able to stay for 1.5 years outside Canada and then cm back? Will there be any problem later with her PR?

Your wife must remain in Canada to sponsor you. A short vacation of maximum a few weeks seems to be tolerated. Unless you have extremely strong ties to your home country your TRV is likely to be denied since CIC will assume you want to remain in Canada. Your wife can travel on her own. That isn't reason to need a TRV.
