I was able to link my app 9 days after submitting, it still is stating XF and status as open cic account. Following the timeline people after our submission date have recieved AOR1. Will the cic update and say something if the application is being returned? If it is returned do I have to pay the fees to resubmit? I'm hoping for the best but.... always prepare for the worst.

Thanks in advance for responses

Pay the fees once. Sounds like you may have had enough for them to create an application in GCMS. They normally send the application package back in total for you to correct what they say is missing. Once corrected, send it all back, including the payment receipt.

When it's finished being assessed (4-8wks), you'll get AOR.

Honestly, looking at the October spreadsheet, you look fine compared to the average. There's something weird with some applications, they're getting much faster AOR and SA, that also happened in September and has been happening in November, and I wouldn't use those for comparison necessarily. But the average number of days for AOR1 for October is 19 and you're at 18 days right now. Taking into account that last Friday was a Federal holiday, I think it's plausible you'll see AOR early next week assuming there's not a problem with your application. There are several other people at 17 days who also have not received AOR.

Can you think of anything that you know you screwed up that might account for it possibly being sent back? Did you make copies before mailing it? You might be able to reassure yourself by looking over those if you did.

thank you. im just a worry wart in general and super impatient haha so this process is like the worst personal patience that I think ill ever have to deal with haha.

I added some pen answers to some of the forms. not the ones that had to be validated but non validated ones. I seen on some forums peoples that had been returned but I think it was because of them being validated but I cant be positive.

That shouldn't be an issue for the non-validated forms. I had to for some, because there was no way to fill in the information on the PDF, the box was not big enough for all the text that was required in several spots. The forms I added hand written stuff to were: IMM 5540, IMM 5669, IMM 5490, and IMM 5406 (well, I intended to on that one, but screwed up and forgot, which luckily didn't result in it getting sent back to us).

I completely understand about the worrying. My husband and I both tend to overanalyze everything and the combination of doing that with all the immigration stuff is nerve wracking. If one of us doesn't think of a worst-case scenario, the other one does. :D
