Hello Guys,

This PR process is worst we are facing, It took us 3+ months to receive AOR, and now it is taking way beyond time to get MR request, CIC officials are busy in EE only, They are not at all touching our files, they only focus on EE, Everymonth they will have deadline for EE applicants, then when they are going to scrutinize our files? when, After AOR nothing just nothing, Sick and tired of this process,

if you call call center they say its 13 months from AOR, on their website it is from the date they receive complete package, either our english is poor or they are just buying a time from us, HOW MANY MORE DAYS WE NEED TO WAIT? We have started in 2014 and it appears to be ending in 2016, Are we the unfortunate people? because in recent past people were getting PR in 10 months, and NOW, PEOPLE ARE JUST CRYING , YELLING BUT NOBODY IS LISTENING TO THEM,

JUST LIKE LAST WEEK THIS WEEK WILL GO SILENT , HOW MANY MORE WEEK WE WILL PACIFY OURSELF???

Yes, waiting. I am waiting for more than 16 months!

Yeah, this is very frustrating. All we can do is to be patient.

I heard an estimate that the changeover to EE has added an average of 2-4 months to the remaining CEC applications. So frustrating, but there is nothing we can do except wait it out.

How many more years do you think we need to wait ?? this wait is killing, can somebody please, explain me how CIC works ??

We have no way of pressuring CIC into doing anything:
- there is no meaningful way to complain
- we can't rule out retaliation from CIC if we do try to complain, as some of the criteria are soft and subject to interpretation
- we can't vote and even when we do get PR we still can't vote - with the current requirements and Citizenship application processing times some of us will be able to in 5 years. No politician will give rat's ass.
- significant part of the public isn't pro-immigration and that is especially true for the current government's electorate
- government institution being slow isn't exactly news, so getting significant media attention is unlikely

So sadly, the only realistic course of action is to shut up and wait patiently, however much we might not like it. And those of us who will become citizens in a couple of years will hopefully remember about this before picking who to vote for.

It makes sense. And moreover, when CIC was tired of our old cases, they might cancel all those. That happened in other kinds of immigration applications before.

Just received a reply from my MP. Our application is under background check and it may last for another few months. :o

Cancel all outstanding applications even if they already issued AOR on them? Is there really a precedent for that?

In 2012 they have returned approximately 300.000 (yes, THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND) PR applications, regardless of what stage they were at. All of those applications have been in the backlog for a very long time (over 4 years) and they refunded the fees. The whole thing ended up in a class action lawsuit, but it was dismissed.
