W1 Visa Lost Live-in caregiver job

hi everyone

i just have a question about my current status. i was issued W1 visa valid until dec 2015. i was also issued work permit when i arrived in canada as live in caregiver supposedly until apr 2016. but lost my job and now looking for a new employer. am i allowed to work for a different type of job or do i have to find another employer and only work as a live in caregiver?

You can look for a different kind of job. But before you start working either as an LCP or in a different job, you'll need to get a new work permit. To get a new work permit your new employer will have to get a new LMIA.
