W-1 permit without employer name

Hello,

My work permit was sponsored by my employer but I can't see employer name on both Visa or WP approval letter.
1. Does that mean I can work for any employer?

Second query is, I have not yet travelled to Canada on my WP. I understand after 1 year with same employer, I can apply for PR. Does that mean I have to join them in Canada or I can apply for PR with working with same employer outside Canada?

1. You will be issued a closed work permit when you arrive in Canada. This only allows you to work for the employer that sponsored your work permit.
2. You would need to move to Canada and work for that employer in Canada for a full year.
